About Anna Mccarter
I am currently pursuing a BA degree in Media Studies as well as Spanish. My main focus is creating inclusion and diversity on digital platforms and bridging the gap between communities in a progressive manner. I am currently employed by Powhatan County as a transcriptionist, which has given me experience in administrative tasks, time management, and local government proceedings. I look forward to starting my position as a Spanish Language Conservation Outreach Intern for the Nature Conservancy in the summer of 2023. In this position I hope to use my translation and digital media skills to increase communication between local organizations and the Latinx community as well as creat media/events that recognize all realities.

Spanish Language Conservation Outreach Intern
TNC’s STEP program was a one-of-a-kind 10 week intensive internship that provided me with several skills aimed toward outreach to underrepresented communities. Under my supervisor, I developed my graphic design, translation, community outreach, and environmental knowledge. The position not only involved design and outreach, but also time management and education. I was involved in holding several educational programs, such as migrant youth visits, field trips, camps, and TNC events. Most importantly, my work culminated with a wonderful event to celebrate Latino Conservation Week. We were happy to welcome almost 3 times as many guests as the previous year!
