I didn’t start my career in tech—it’s my second act. For over 20 years, I worked in roles that spanned office administration, retail, and customer services. While they weren’t in the technology field, they taught me invaluable skills: clear communication, critical thinking, organisation, and the ability to solve problems creatively. These skills became the foundation I’ve built on as I transitioned into software development. That shift happened when I rediscovered my love for programming. I’d dabbled in it during high school, but a few years ago, a simple online course reignited the spark. I realised that coding wasn’t just about logic—it was a creative outlet, and it felt like the perfect way to blend my practical experience with something I truly enjoyed.I took the leap, left my job, and earned a Bachelor of Computing Systems from UNITEC, graduating at the top of my class and receiving the Senior Scholar Award. Since then, I’ve worked as an Automation Engineer, combining coding and cloud technologies to design and automate processes that save time and make life easier for my colleagues.I’m passionate about creating solutions—whether that’s automating workflows or designing tools that bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams. I’m excited to bring my blend of experience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for learning to a team where I can grow, contribute, and create impactful results.
