As the sole receptionist during my shifts, I demonstrated strong organisational skills while coordinating numerous tasks including taking phone calls, stocktaking, billing, scanning, faxing and cleaning. I regularly received positive feedback from patients and doctors who appreciate my ability to maintain a calm and engaged demeanour whilst delivering high quality service in a busy and demanding environment. I consistently communicated important technical information to patients and doctors with a high level of detail and accuracy, requiring skilful social and professional communication. Social awareness, respect and empathy were key in my interactions with patients from all backgrounds, ages and states of health.

I am a self-employed private tutor in senior school Mathematics, Science and French. The number of students I tutor has tripled over the course of a year, largely thanks to the excellent recommendations students and parents have given to their peers. In this role I take a flexible approach to teaching and adapt teaching methods according to each student’s circumstance and academic ability. Strong rapports with each student are built based on mutual trust and respect so students feel comfortable to seek assistance. I draw upon strong communication and teaching skills to guide, encourage and motivate students.

I was a vacationer within the Health, Ageing & Human Services Group as part of the Management Consulting Division at KPMG in Sydney. This was a valuable experience in which I was exposed to an exciting breadth of projects relating to policies, programs and evaluations in a variety of sectors, including health, financial, justice and aged care sectors. I am grateful for this opportunity to challenge and extend myself professionally and I quickly learnt invaluable skills needed to succeed in a dynamic and fast-paced working environment.

This was a valuable opportunity to develop varied laboratory skillsets in the biochemistry, toxicology and immunoserology departments and to work with instruments to a high level of precision.

I represented the University of Sydney at the Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering (AINSE) third annual Women in STEM and Entrepreneurship (WISE) School, a program open to 60 students from 35 universities across Australia and New Zealand. This was an incredible opportunity to network and learn from the professional experiences of a diverse group of scientific researchers, entrepreneurs and distinguished guests. This program focused on developing research, entrepreneurial and leadership skills and includes an ongoing mentorship program to prepare me for a career in STEM.
