Originally from the UK but have been living in Melbourne for the past 14 years enjoying everything that the "most livable city" has to offer. My background is in geology and mining however for the past 18 years I've been involved in the management and remediation of contaminated land, so of course have been to some glamorous places over the years (gasworks, refineries, landfills, industrial sites). Although I've officially been employed as a environmental consultant the entire time, I've spent a number of years working client-side via secondments to BP, United Energy and Multinet Gas and Jemena. This has given me great insight into how to manage projects and teams across different organisations and effectively communicate to stakeholders. In addition to project management and providing technical advice, I am currently the Client Account Manager for AusNet Services and lead the development of business within the energy sector for my team at AECOM. As a result, I have become increasingly involved in a variety of projects related to the development of renewable energy sources and the upgrade of existing electrical infrastructure to accommodate the introduction of these different energy sources. This has provided me with a broad understanding of challenges currently faced by the industry as well as the opportunity to be part of the industry’s progression towards decarbonisation, which I am really enjoying and am keen to expand further.
