About Anna Murphy

I specialise in biomechanics, commencing my career in the sporting arena before redirecting my focus and passion to gait analysis. Following the completion of my PhD in paediatric lower limb amputee gait in 2003, I worked at the NHMRC before moving to Melbourne to take up my current role to combine my biomechanics, clinical, research and administration experience in coordinating clinically-driven research. I thoroughly enjoy the diversity of the research I am involved with and the fantastic people I collaborate with. Until July 2024, I was very fortunate to be able to work and contribute clinically, leading a multidisciplinary team that made recommendations for interventions to assist adults with a gait impairment. I am particularly proud of all the clinical service achieved for our patients, our research and the education we provided health professionals.
