BVMN is a network bringing together several NGOs working to support people on the move and defend their rights along the Balkan Route. Their reports draw from first-hand testimonies of people who were subjected to violence, pushbacks and detention as they were migrating to Europe. As part of the field team in Thessaloniki, my tasks included:- Collecting on-site testimonies with people on the move on their experiences with border violence, pushbacks, and detention in Greece;- Contributing to BVMN Monthly Reports;- Conducting desk-based research to contribute to the advocacy efforts of the Network;- Maintenance of online testimonies database and editing of case reports;

Verité is committed in the field of labor rights and human rights worldwide. At Verité, I contributed to the Assessments Projects, based on the work of auditors entering workplaces and assessing the business’s labor practices and their compliance with a particular standard or client code. The activities included:- Benchmarking various companies’ and stakeholders’ Codes of Conduct and standards.- Researching migration corridors, relevant fees paid by workers, and laws impacting their recruitment.- Researching the role of gender in auditing and updating Verité’s standards to reflect best practice.
