I am an Arts Manager with over 9 years of experience in arts program development. Through building relationships with students, parents, and staff, I work towards program expansion while keeping performance standards high.My passion is working with performing arts organizations in the Twin Cities. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and a Master's of Professional Studies focused on Arts and Cultural Leadership. My experiences range from working in the orchestra classroom, to directing community theatre musicals, to being on the Board of Directors for nonprofit theatres.I began my career as an orchestra teacher in Chaska, MN, and quickly began looking for additional arts opportunities. In addition to my teaching job, I began my own private string instrument studio, worked as a rehearsal assistant with Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphony (GTCYS), and began working with Chaska Valley Family Theatre (CVFT) as a Pit Orchestra Director. Within a year I joined the CVFT Board of Directors and realized Arts Organization Management was an exciting career field.My work on the CVFT Board of Directors led me to pursue management programs, and I was accepted to the University of Minnesota College of Continuing and Professional Studies- Arts and Cultural Leadership program in 2016. Through this program I joined the Stages Theatre Company Board of Directors, and continued working with area theatres as a Director, Program Manager, Musician, and Volunteer. I completed my Arts and Cultural Leadership program in Spring 2020.My experience in public school arts classrooms and nonprofit organizations helps make me a strong Arts Manager. I am dedicated to furthering Minnesota arts programs both in schools and as their own organizations. I love building relationships with students and their families, and seeing how the arts have impacted their lives.
