As a Research Fellow at Cincinnati Children's, I leverage molecular biology techniques in multiple animal systems to investigate the role of mechanosensitive endothelial cell populations in extracellular matrix stratification during cardiac valve development. I am passionate about advancing the understanding of molecular and cellular mechanisms of heart valve formation and disease, and applying this knowledge to improve diagnosis and treatment options.I have a multidisciplinary background with a PhD in Molecular and Developmental Biology from the University of Cincinnati, a MBA from Milwaukee School of Engineering, and a BS in BioMolecular Engineering from the same institution. I have developed and applied various skills and techniques in molecular biology including scientific writing, data analysis, transgenic mice, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, fluorescent microscopy, 3D reconstruction, CUT&RUN technology, and RNA in situ hybridization. I have also contributed to multiple scientific papers and presentations, and received internal and external funding for my research.
