Where people were working their way back to our new normal and 6 hotels needing support, care and encouragement awaited me I found connection, deep rooted culture and a new chapter to add to my life storybook amoung the resilient people of the Steel City 🖤💛 I owe a significant part of my learning and advancement in this role to my partner and friend - Carly Hartranft who welcomed me as a sister and confidant Not a single day in my life in this role was the same and will ever be forgotten, come see ⬇️🔳 Reconnected with our partners and customers to understand what was happening in each others industry’s and what the path forward together looked like 🔳 Reintroduced our brand, by writing love letters to guests who had not traveled in 2.5 years and asked them how we could welcome them back in a way that felt safe 🔳Reinvented our sales approach to walks in the park, coffee breaks and book clubs to get to know our old and new partners once again 🔳 Listened to understand how we could wrangle 6 hotels in one market to provide for the known and unknown needs of our customers 🔳 Leaned in to new ways of doing things that before were “we’ve always done it this way”. It felt like we were creating a new world together. COVID-19, yes it did and there’s part of me I feel chooses not to remember or feel again some of what we experienced individually during this timeRewind just a minute - come with me to the start of 2019🔹 Relocated to one of my favorite cities - Philly 🦅 to join a team of warriors who would endure one of our greatest challenges yet 🔹 Completed a full renovation of the Residence Inn by Marriott from the inside out while keeping our doors open and allowing our guests to join us on this journey 🔹 Learned how to punch rooms, work with contractors and brand champions to yield life back into this gem of a property 🔹Reached within to grab every ounce of kindness, compassion and empathy to continue to care for a hotel full of guests who couldn’t leave, check out, or go home due to the shelter in place order🔹 Prioritized mental health and physical wellness of our team as we cleaned rooms together, worked our shifts alone, and continued to come back to work, thankful, to have a place to belong during this unforgettable time 🔹 Led the charge, working with PRALA to identify ways to bring food, drinks, and safe social experiences that were the first step of returning to our world🔹 Reopened brand new hotel with a team of warriors after restrictions were lifted and educated our beloved guests of the way back, how to return to travel, how to live again Show less

With a dash more of autonomy and a team that wanted to see me succeed, the hotel was my oyster A day in my life looked very different all thanks to two R words…Renovation & Rebranding ▪️Worked alongside Marriott brand champions on a unforgettable journey of renovating and rebranding our vintage bones into something of wonder that consumed the better part of 24 months ▪️Understood the care and attention it took as well as a major pivot in focus to bring to life a vision while operating an open hotel during a full on renovation with real guests and real challenges (we won’t revisit the number of times the fire alarms went off over that period 🤫)▪️Took advantage of eachother, leaning on one another at various times not to lose our luster, our enthusiasm, site of our goal. We carried eachother and learned together. ▪️Planned and hosted the Grand Reopening Party of the century - just ask Gatsby 🎭 what a night of tears, celebration, wonder and pride that as a team - we reached the finish line together, as a hotelier - I couldn’t wait to open this new home to our guests and as a girl who always loved the mystery of hotels growing up - I had one of my very own to share with the world Show less

I remember sending my sister a message on Snapchat that I couldn’t believe I was given this opportunity. On the moon was how I was feeling.
