Split Banana goes further than just ‘essential’ RSE information. We give students tangible, creative tools to self-manage their wellbeing.We teach inclusive content and develop young people’s social and emotional Skills; enabling them to express, reflect and communicate and allow their voices to shape their own learning. In this way, we empower young people to build healthy relationships with their bodies, their minds and each other.

Year Here is a full-time postgraduate course in social innovation based in London, designed to cultivate entrepreneurial approaches to entrenched social problems. Unlike a traditional Master's degree, it's immersive, action-oriented and grounded in the daily experience of those at the frontline of inequality.

Working with the Makeshift Foundation team across both Pop Brixton and Peckham Levels, in co-creating and co-designing a theory of change, impact measurement framework, 12 month action plan and inspiration bank. Our team designed and delivered theory of change workshops, conducted research across both sites and organised a creative installation to galvanise members to participate within their local communities.

I designed and delivered a creative after-school English Literature programme; increasing students’ attainment, as well as empowering them to consider the importance of storytelling within their own lives and communities. In addition to my core responsibilities I focused on broadening students aspirations: I coordinated a career festival with 200 students and 50 professionals, and created a career website which offered practical support and information to student body.

Supporting the production manager and co-ordinator both in the production office and on set: liaising with cast and crew, organising transport and accommodation, event planning, office management over multiple sites, and providing administrative support across departments.

During this placement my responsibilities were diverse: from booking transport and accommodation for cast and crew, looking after principal artists, orchestrating large events such as readthrough’s and executive dinners, to researching and licensing content footage. Working within the production team to support both cast and crew during pre-production and filming. Setting up and managing offices across departments, providing administrative support, sourcing crew and support artists, assisting with transport and delivery logistics.This invaluable experience has left me confident in working as part of a large crew and production office team, as well providing me with a good knowledge of the television industry.

Our theatre production sought to raise awareness of mental health issues as well as funds for a Scottish mental health charity. We succeeded in raising over £2,000.As production co-ordinator my responsibilities included writing funding applications, organising fundraising events, casting, providing extensive support to director and art director, ensuring project was delivered on time and to budget and overseeing marketing and comms.
