I am a third-year chemistry student at the University of Cincinnati, and I plan on graduating at the end of the Spring 2024 semester. After I graduate, I am going to take a gap year before returning to school and obtaining a doctoral chemistry degree. My goal in this gap year is to gain experience from and build connections with people in the chemistry field around the Cincinnati area. I hope to use the opportunity to understand what I can do with my degree and narrow down my specific interests. My long-term goal for my career is to work under a university or government agency and perform theoretical research. In the past, I've mostly worked short-term, part-time food industry jobs. These positions- as well as my current position as a lab assistant- have shaped me into an adaptable and timely problem-solver. Furthermore, my academic career has promoted my ability to be responsible and a team-player. With the experience I've garnered in both my professional and academic lives, I hope to explore positions that will continue to boost my understanding and passion for chemistry and science as a whole.
