I have over 30 years of experience in research, extension, management and policy interaction in both the government and private sectors. I have been recently based in Annapolis, Maryland USA, leading the re-structure and transition of a non-profit science-based company from a founding organisation to a mature business. The United States experience has provided an understanding of the science and politics associated with voluntary and regulatory agricultural programs as well as competing agricultural, urban and environmental trade-off issues in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. I am now based in Melbourne Australia as a Director of Natural Decisions, an interdisciplinary consulting company. Natural Decisions conducts science and economics-based projects to help clients make sound environmental decisions. Clients include regional Natural Resource Management groups such as Catchment Management Authorities, state governments, the Australian government, universities and industry.
