I am a performance-driven Executive and Board member with 25+ years’ experience creating shareholder value through designing and implementing capital raising and commercialisation strategies and supporting businesses to deliver sustained results. Passionate about supporting startups and innovation businesses, I have supported many companies to achieve their potential and identify new pathways for investment. With a thorough understanding of due diligence and venture capital, I have led the investment into early stage businesses as well as raising capital both as CEO and an Investment Fund Manager.I was the founding CEO of QUT Creative Enterprise Australia (CEA) and successfully led the organisation for over a decade. This included creating CEA’s Startup Fund and led investments in creative companies including TradeMark Vision, Fame & Partners, Bluethumb, Audience Republic and GiggedIn. Based on the success of this Fund, I established company operations as Managing Director of the Creative Tech Ventures Fund and was appointed to the CEA Board. I have specialised in building programs and companies to fast track the growth of bioscience, digital and creative industries in the UK and Australia. As Director of Science City York, I led the strategic and operational development of the UK’s first National ‘Science City’. During my leadership, this initiative created over 2,700 new employment opportunities and over 70 start-up companies in creative, digital and bioscience sectors. International consultancy services include providing business support through to capital raising programs in Australia, Europe, Indonesia, China and Taiwan.
