As an environmental scientist in SFWMD's Lake and River Ecosystems section, I work on a variety of projects in Lake Okeechobee and the Kissimmee River, including emergent and submergent vegetation mapping, aerial bird surveying, invertebrate throw trapping, and phytoplankton and zooplankton monitoring. While my tasks vary, my main role within the group is to run a long-term project monitoring zooplankton populations in Lake Okeechobee.
