Facilitate hands on learning in 3K-5th grade classes.

Plan workshops to educate teachers and paraprofessionals in using the "You Be The Chemist" activity guide and 5E lesson planning strategies.

Taught an elementary life science and geology class. In charge of lesson planning, creating assessments and leading classroom activities. In previous years, assisted in teaching a high school anatomy class. In charge of creating tests and quizzes, assisted in leading dissections and classroom discussions.

Designed and taught curriculum for 7th grade Physical Science and 8th grace Life Science classes. Member of committee to evaluate the K-8th grade science program during school reaccreditation process.

Selected as a Dow Chemical Fellow in the 2012-2013 New Science Teacher Academy by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA). Gained skills and knowledge by being paired with a discipline-specific mentor teacher, taking part in webinars and discussion groups about science teaching and attending the NSTA's National Conference. Implemented teaching practices learned from the fellowship into the classroom.
