Tax Compliance Manager
CurrentAs the Tax Compliance Team Leader my role is to manage the expenses checking process ensuring compliance with both client policy and HMRC tax rules. This also includes challenging that all non-compliant expenditure has been recovered or taxed in accordance with tax regulations.I am also responsible for ensuring correctness for both the PSA and P11d data and it's submission to HMRC within agreed timescales.•Managing a team of 3 employees, leading on performance and attendance management issues.• Supporting and managing a team of 4 off-shore employees in the completion of tax and expense compliance.• Manage and prioritise workloads to ensure KPI/SLA’s are achieved, highlighting any issues to management immediately.• Provide detailed and accurate MI for clients and management.• Developed and managed the implementation of a new P11d/PSA timetable to ensure all actions are completed accurately and on time, providing an assurance to our client. Implementing additional checks to be carried throughout the year to streamline the process and prevent additional work at the end of the financial year.• Involved in impacting change requests for potential new business from clients, discussing implementation dates, providing process timings to ensure staffing levels are correct and investigating policies to highlight any areas of concern.• Manage completion of the P11d and PSA, ensuring both HMRC and SSCL deadlines are met, exceeding HMRC targets for PSA.• Managing my team through £14k recovery of non compliant expenses and applying taxation to benefits in kind totalling over £15.8 million for 16-17 tax year.• Provided solutions and managed workarounds for TUPE employees transferring into our client areas, with retained government department T&C's.• Working closely and providing support to a client when visiting HMRC during a review of processes.• Highlighting system issues within a new payroll system whilst supporting system experts through to completion.
