Provides a wide range of psychosocial evaluation/assessment, diagnostic, counseling therapy, crisis intervention services in a clinical environment, which requires a high degree of independent decision-making. Most aspects of this job require clinical assessment, evaluation, and intervention skills to Mental Health/Substance Abuse consumers that are treated with individual, family, and/or group therapy in an inpatient setting. Case management/supportive services for disposition of cases is also a core function of this job

Professor for developmental disabilities (DDT 110) course.Plan and teach developmental disabilities course. This course identifies the characteristics and causes of various disabilities. Topics include history of service provision, human rights, legislation and litigation, advocacy and accessing support services. Upon completion, students will demonstrate an understanding of current and historical developmental disability definitions and support systems used throughout the life-span.

Substance abuse counseling, individual and groups.Provide support and treatment to people who are suffering from addiction to drugs or alcohol. Work with physician and other personnel in client evaluation and treatment to further sobriety. Develop and facilitate process groups and educational programs.Work to ensure compliance with legal issues including but not limited to client confidentiality and risk management; ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Develop and document individualized treatment plans that address the needs of the client. Perform intake, evaluation, orientation, admissions, treatment planning, counseling, documentation, discharge planning and referral of substance abusing clients.

Provide Direct Care to individuals with disabilities and their families. Provide psycho-educational interventions, personal care and/or respite to client and client families. Activities may include social skills training, management and monitoring of behavioral point systems, behavioral contracting, conflict resolution and skill training, anticipatory guidance, life space interviewing, and training or assistance in activities of daily living; when providing respite, activities may also include recreational outings and monitoring the client to ensure safety and provide opportunities for recreational outlets. All activities are outlined in the Person-Centered Plan or Care Plan for the client. All activities are documented through daily progress notes. Provide Advocacy for client and family.
