Anna Swenson is the Community Outreach Coordinator for projects in Northern California. These projects include an alternative compliance plan to meet SB-88 requirements, a staffer for a local North Delta groundwater sustainably agency to address SGMA & successful recruitment of over 17,000 acres of groundwater dependent agricultural farm ground to receive safe & reliable recycled water for irrigation. She actively engages communities in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, helping them work with agencies to create policy and infrastructure that aid farmers and support the heritage of farming in the Delta. Anna's collaborative approach with community members on groundwater, freshwater, recycled water and irrigation issues supports conservation and preservation of the California Delta. Prior to joining The Freshwater Trust, Anna was involved with many community organizations regarding water and public policy. Her leadership in the North Delta as a community organizer has focused on agricultural water resources. Anna is a graduate of the Delta Protection Commission’s Delta Leadership Program. Anna is also currently Chair of the Delta Protection Commission Advisory Committee. When not in the office, is a member of the Pear Fair Committee, dedicated to continuing the 50 year tradition of celebrating Pears and Farmers. She is also a member of the CA Delta Chamber and Delta Historical Society. She also has an interesting collection of farm animals including Nigerian dwarf goats & sheep. Their biggest jobs yearly are the parades in Clarksburg. Her big family now includes a beautiful Grandson whom she adores. Family time usually includes spending time on water- enjoying the largest estuary in the west.
