Students could work on the selected project individually or as a team of 2-4 people. My responsibility was to give them advice and familiarize with tools, approaches and best practices commonly used in the industry. They could use different programming languages. Each project required to learn different technologies. I've performed a series of intermediate reviews of the codebase and general progress. At the end of the semester students submitted prepared project code and report explaining the ideas they used and their own contribution. I’ve actively used these skills, for example, when I had to organize a training system for new developers within the department. They also proved useful for projects involving a presentation of the results or explanation of the techniques to the clients who didn’t have extensive knowledge on certain technologies. Show less
