Anna is currently the Policy Director at Voices for Utah Children, a Salt Lake-based non-profit organization that advocates on behalf of Utah kids. Many state-level policies affect kids - but kids don't vote! So our organization acts as a voice for all Utah kids, especially those in under-resourced and marginalized communities, in policy conversations with elected officials, public administrators, community partners, government agencies and the general public. Anna has conducted policy research and analysis in the areas of Early Childhood Care and Learning and Juvenile Justice Reform, and uses this research and analysis to advocate for policy reform that will result in better outcomes for Utah kids. Anna joined Voices for Utah Children in 2017 after nearly ten years with the ACLU of Utah. She served in several capacities with the ACLU of Utah, including Strategic Communications Manager, Public Policy Advocate and Development Director. Prior to serving with the ACLU, Anna accumulated many years of service in the non-profit and public sectors. She handled communication and development for several small non-profit organizations in Denver, Colo., served as a Congressional Aide for U.S. Representative Diana DeGette (D-CO1), and worked as a community organizer. In addition, Anna has extensive experience with writing, editing, page design and graphic design. Anna is a graduate of the University of Denver, BA Journalism, 2000; she graduated summa cum laude as a member of the Phil Beta Kappa Honors Society. She also is a graduate of the University of Utah's Executive MPA Program, where she was a member of the University's Policy Solutions Challenge USA Team (2014 National Champions), the Golden Key International Honor Society, and the Pi Alpha Alpha National Honors Society in Public Affairs and Administration.
