After graduating from the UK Centre for Events Management at Leeds Metropolitan University, I am now fulfilling the role of Area Events Manager for Cancer Research UK. This involves the planning, co-ordination and delivery of Race for Life & Pretty Muddy events across the North East, Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as other brand related events. Whilst completing my degree in Events Management I carried out a 1 year industry placement with Bauer Media’s Metro Radio in Newcastle upon Tyne. Within this placement I carried a Marketing Executive role working closely with a large number of external companies delivering events across the North East. Within this time I project managed the Newcastle City Christmas Light Switch on, hosting North East celebrity Joe McElderry and many other guests. I also planned and co-ordinated a successful Job/Recruitment Fair held at Durham County Cricket Ground exhibiting many large North East based companies such as npower, Amec, Care UK and Santander.
