Responsibilities:Performed validation testing on commercial assay kit on lab-developed microfluidic device prototype to detect SARS-CoV-2 virion in clinical saliva samples applying isothermal loop-mediated amplification (RT-LAMP) and real time RT-PCR.Developed in-house real time RT-LAMP assay applying fluorescence and absorbance based on colorimetric detection system. Performed RNA extraction of SARS-CoV-2, RNA quantification.Collaborated with CLIA certified clinical lab to obtain clinical saliva samples and transport the samples to academic lab. Collaborated with BSL3 virology lab to obtain heat-inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus to assist biochemistry researchers in separation study. Managed molecular lab and maintained instruments for smooth operation following company guidelines.Established BSL2 laboratories at ASU - ISTBV to perform tissue culture, bacterial culture and molecular assays that adhere to EHS and Institutional Biosafety Committee.
