Graduate at SSEN Transmission, where I am completing a two-year programme with rotating placements within the business. My home placement is on the Strategy Team within the Business Planning and Commercial directorate.As a Business Development Associate at RE Tech Advisors, I managed all aspects of business development, from prospective client relations through contracting. I provided administrative, coordination, and communications support for proposal/scope of work development, tracked all proposals and revenue targets through our CRM software, edited and formatted proposal content, led meetings and trainings to keep colleagues up-to-date on best practices in business development, reviewed contracts, and worked closely with RE Tech's leadership team to guide company growth. All of this work contributed to creating a more sustainable future alongside our clients, within and beyond real estate, and allowed me to play a role in everything from carbon accounting to developing CSR reports.As a graduate research assistant at the University of Maryland, College Park, I used near-surface geophysics to contribute to a National Science Foundation-funded project studying the urban critical zone. Working at field sites in watersheds near Philadelphia, PA; Baltimore, MD; and Washington, DC; I used seismic refraction to characterize the structure of the subsurface. I’m familiar with the data processing necessary to run seismic inversions, from picking p-waves in Pickwin to running inversions in Plotrefa or through the Transdimensional Hierarchical Bayesian MATLAB code developed by researchers at UMD. I presented my research at the American Geophysical Union Fall Conference in New Orleans, LA in December 2021.My undergraduate research involved analyzing digital topography in ArcGIS and correlating terrace height and spacing to eustatic sea level to better understand the Quaternary uplift history of southeastern Cuba. This work contributed to ongoing research on the Oriente Transform Fault System, which is seismically dangerous and is involved in the fault network responsible for the 2010 and 2021 Haiti earthquakes.I am also a lifelong reader and writer, with both scientific and creative writing experience. I love copyediting and proofreading technical reports.
