In Nederland wordt jaarlijks zo’n 2,5 miljoen ton eten verspild in de hele voedselketen. Alle landbouwgrond, water, energie en Co2 uitstoot voor de productie hiervan, gaan hiermee verloren. Dit heeft een enorme impact op onze aarde. Voedselverspilling begint met preventie: het voorkomen van verspilling, maar helaas is dat niet in alle gevallen mogelijk. Een afwijkende maat, verkeerd gelabelde verpakkingen, gecancelde orders, pallets met een paar mindere producten waarvan het merendeel wel goed is, product schade door weersomstandigheden, zo maar een greep uit het aantal redenen waar voedselverspilling door ontstaat. Instock probeert een een oplossing te zijn voor onvermijdbare voedselverspilling.
