I led AVI, a small charity working hand-in-hand with Indian NGOs to develop rural development initiatives, through a period of significant transition from a founder-led organisation. I recruited a new staff team, established new international project partnerships, fundraising partnerships and developed new social enterprise income streams. I led the overhaul of new internal operating systems, fundraising mechanisms and the design and development of a new website. I also had the honour of undertaking a number of trips to visit our partners and the projects in India, including organiation a forum and convening for all our partners in India.

Conducted a six month research project into the Federation’s national services, developed and wrote a series of detailed service reports and specifications.

PhotoVoice’s mission is to bring about positive social change for marginalised communities in the UK and developing countries, through providing them with photographic training with which they can advocate, express themselves and generate income.I founded PhotoVoice after establishing a project in Vietnam which trained a group of street and working children in Ho Chi Minh City in photographic skills. After witnessing the power of the images they took both to educate others and challenge preconceptions and seeing the confidence the children gained, I co-founded PhotoVoice to continue the Street Vision project and initiate others like it. Today PhotoVoice has run over 50 projects directly training 2000 individuals and reaching tens of thousands in over 23 countries.We grew the organisation to one with 7 staff, 30+ trained freelancers and an annual income of over £450,000. I worked with others to raise over 2.5 million in funding from trusts and foundations, corporate and public sector partners, Co-organised over 80 exhibitions and led over 20 press campaigns.
