-Research and develop foundation, government, and individual funding proposals for UMMA operations, exhibitions, programs, and gifts of art ranging from $5,000 to $12M.-Develop stewardship plans and submit reports on funded projects, cultivating relationships with foundation executives and program officers to secure ongoing funding for UMMA programs. -Work closely with the UMMA Director to cultivate on-campus relationships that result in significant funding for exhibitions and programs, up to $800,000/year. -Collaborate with major/corporate giving and annual giving officers to develop individual and corporate proposals, acknowledgment letters, and stewardship reports.-Serve as the primary author for development communications in the UMMA magazine, calendar, and website.-Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Co-Lead (2019 - 2023): Work with UMMA management and staff to draft and deploy the UMMA Commitment to Anti-Racist Action. Serve as the primary author on DEI-related materials, including U-M plans and reports. Convene and manage the cross-departmental DEI committee and track plans and progress. Lead efforts to develop positive organizational culture, organizing and facilitating retreats in response to internal climate surveys. -Interim Chief Development Officer (August 2020 - January 2021 and April - June 2024): Maintained and built momentum for development operations; initiated and continued conversations with donors that resulted in significant gifts, including a $100,000 bequest. Re-framed and coordinated the UMMA reactivation mini-campaign resulting in over $175,000 raised for strategic initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic and UMMA/U-M closure.

-Provided strategic management and oversight for seven annual/project budgets, totaling more than $3M/year.-Served as the primary author of external communications including grant proposals, website, social media, newsletters, annual reports, and donor communications. Co-led organizational branding efforts. -Served as liaison to U-M General Counsel and Technology Transfer and SOE development and communications.-Developed HR and operations procedures and protocols for staff, graduate students, and affiliated faculty.-Provided staff leadership to the TeachingWorks Board of Advisors and assistance to the Policy Advisory Council.

-Secured lead annual gifts of $1,000 to $25,000 and major gifts and bequest intentions from $25,000 to $1M.-Developed and executed a comprehensive, strategic annual giving campaign that solicited more than 10,000 constituents annually, raising more than $215,000 in general fund support and $100,000 in annual program support.-Directed the Alumni Society Board of Governors and related committees, including solicitation and stewardship of alumni cohorts and coordination of reunions and alumni activities.

-Researched funding prospects and prepared proposals, reports, and support materials for solicitations of individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies, raising more than $2.75M/year.-Identified, cultivated, and solicited new and existing funders, working directly with foundation and corporate executives, program officers, board members, and trustees.-Collaborated with artistic, education, and community affairs personnel to develop and communicate programs that aligned with foundation and government funding priorities.

-Identified and researched prospective funders and prepared foundation and government proposals ranging from $500 to $15M for education programs, capital projects, and programmatic activities.-Attended and presented organization and project information to community and administrative committees at stakeholder meetings for Los Angeles City and County proposition applications and government grant programs, resulting in the single largest grant received by the organization.
