Litigation Paralegal
Current• Prepare pleadings and other legal documents including but not limited to petitions, appearances, motions, affidavits, and discovery request• Draft notices of mailing, notices of motions, notices of filing, certificates and verifications, formal letters to opposing counsel • Conduct factual and legal research on complex files and complete revisions to the various pleadings per requests from attorneys and clients • Research, analyze, and evaluate files, request and review materials and documents from clients. Prepare timelines/chronologies, Prepare exhibit packages • Docket hearing dates, pleading deadlines, expected follow-ups to clients, event re-projections in client sites, conference calls, courtesy copy due dates, and appointments • Meet with the attorney on a daily basis to discuss case strategies, upcoming hearings, and drafting needs • Responsible for fostering and maintaining client relationships for 100+ cases • Contact opposing counsel regarding cases including settlement negotiations, status on loan modification applications, and other loss mitigation • Analyze documents provided by client and ensure compliance with established court procedures, laws, regulations, and internal operating practices • File documents and schedule motions with clerk in all counties of Illinois. Send orders, releases, and other relevant documents for recording, mail filed pleadings to service list • Perform other related duties and assignments as required. Work non-standard hours, including occasional evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary to meet the needs of the Company and clients.
