About Anna Sutton

With over 27 years of experience in the Further Education (FE) and skills sector, I bring a wealth of knowledge from both policy and funding organizations and hands-on roles in the delivery sector. Throughout my career, I’ve developed and implemented impactful skills funding policies, building a proven track record in driving effective change.For the past 8 years as a freelancer, I’ve collaborated closely with providers, employers, and FE sector representative bodies. My work includes the successful development and rollout of major programs like Apprenticeships, T Levels, Advanced Learner Loans, Traineeships, and Bootcamps. I also contribute actively to DfE provider support initiatives, including the Apprenticeship Workforce Development (AWD) and T Level Provider and Employer Support Programmes.Based in Bromsgrove with my Tibetan Terrier X Poodle, Dora, I balance a dynamic career with an active social life, enjoying time with friends and family. Building on previous experience of JIP2010 I set higher expectations ensuring effective and efficient use of public funds. • Development and full implementation of JIP2010 to address specific skills gaps in five industry sectors and levering approx £7m in private sector co-investment.• Development of co-investment frameworks for NHS and HMPS to include full implementation with employers and LSC regions. Achieving strategic high-level commitment from both employers to co-investment with a net value in excess of £100m.• Successful negotiation and implementation of two sector compacts totaling more than £150m.• Working with key stakeholders including UKCES and SSCs to develop business processes ensuring the delivery of the UKVQRP in particular, sector qualification reform. This involved formal consultation, workshops, business mapping, specification of systems and the leading of various teams and stakeholders through a significant programme of change.
