As Awards & Outreach Coordinator, I led the project management of AAPC’s awards programs by overseeing the end-to-end process--from coordinating nominations and organizing judging panels to managing communications with nominees, judges, and winners for the Pollies, Campaign Excellence, and 40 Under 40 Awards. I developed and executed detailed timelines to ensure all project deadlines were met, maintained award databases, and collaborated with cross-functional teams to deliver successful award ceremonies. Additionally, I managed trophy fulfillment, including inventory and marketing. My role also supported membership outreach, with a focus on member engagement and retention via the implementation of communication strategies, promotional content, and supporting the planning and execution of association events.

In my role as a Research Assistant, I explored the impact of shock events, specifically harmful algal blooms (HABs) of Karenia brevis, on fisheries in the state of Florida. My work utilized R for spatial data analysis to detect spillover effects in fishing effort across regions impacted by HABs.In support of Dr. Jessica Gephart's Seafood Globalization Lab, I helped research the effects of globalization on fisheries using government-aggregated data. Responsibilities included analyzing marine and freshwater species trade, landings, and production data, as well as fish consumption trends across different countries. Additional responsibilities included drafting country profiles, synthesizing trade data, and identifying trends to support OCEANA’s "Save the Oceans, Feed the World" initiative.

As a Manatee Photo-ID Intern, I assisted CMA research staff in identifying and documenting individual manatees in central Florida springs, providing valuable insights into their movements, site fidelity, habitat preferences, behavior, survival, and reproduction. My main geographical focus was central Florida, Lake Okeechobee, and Silver Springs. Our team collected data using polarized and underwater cameras from boats and kayaks, ensuring minimal disturbance to manatees in their warm water habitats. My additional responsibilities included data entry, scar sketching for identification, photo processing, and field equipment maintenance.

As an Education Intern, I developed and implemented the CMA's Marine Science Academy curriculum for 4th-5th grade students, focusing on harmful algal blooms. I taught students from 1st-12th grade in subjects including biology, ichthyology, ecology, and zoology. An additional responsibility included leading hands-on kayaking and snorkeling excursions to Bird Island in Clearwater Bay, as well as around Honeymoon Island, and guiding students through observational studies and seagrass transect data collection.
