Computer ProgrammerDelta Rod Holdings Sep 1980 - Aug 1981West BromichThis was my first job after leaving university. I was a Cobol programmer. We used the ICL 1903T mainframe. On-line development was coming in but there was still also a data entry room where programs written on coding sheets were given in to be punched onto cards and I even remember making amendments to programs by punching holes in paper tapes. Times have changed! This was the early 80s when industry was still going through a recession. I think the company closed soon after I left (nothing to do with my programs though - I hope not anyway ! )
