I am passionate about innovation, and the projects below indicate my creativity and innovation:• 2000 I wrote Environmental Access Standard (second only to Gateshead in publicising ‘what access looks like’ )• 2003 First local authority to recognise British Sign Language and to sign up to the BSL Charter• 2004 Anti harassment campaign using local people and a professional photographer for striking images, many posters are still used by organisations today as positive images of our diverse communities• 2005 Initiated Neighbourhood Renewal Funded hate crime services for disabled people, LGBT communities and support for school age perpetrators of race hate crime• 2006 National recognition by LGA as the best practice model for a Disability Equality Scheme due to the quality and quantity of service user involvement• 2008 – Won Routes into languages award and an Institute of Linguists award for quality standards in community interpreting • 2010 Equalities profiles of 25 diverse communities – demographics and priorities• 2011 I co-wrote Out in the Workplace – why it is important for LGBT staff to be able to be out about their sexual orientation in the workplace• 2012 I designed the new Local Crisis and Prevention Fund which was praised by advice agencies for prioritising those with complex needs in the greatest financial need• 2013 I devised the Restorative Bristol Standard• 2013 I initiated a high risk hate crime case review panel to mitigate risk.2014 I managed the Equalities and Community Cohesion Team at Bristol,City Council and in 2015 I began to develop the Bristol response to the Government’s Vulnerable Person’s Resettlement Scheme.2021 the BristolSyrian Resettlement Team has resettled 398 refugees in Bristol .
