I graduated from Indiana University in May 2022 with a degree in Linguistics Anthropology and Folklore/Ethnomusicology with a notation in Honors. While in university, I worked part time, participated in the Student Union Board, was an undergrad student assistant, and interned at an on campus ethnographic museum. After graduating, I continued in the museum part time while also hostessing at a local restaurant. I have held a few different types of retail and customer service jobs previously, where I have been able to practice and grow my problem solving skills, communication, and manage tasks efficiently in a more bustling, fast paced environment. While at the museum as a collections assistant, I had my first job experience of data entry, artifact processing and handling, and artifact tracking. This role gave me a lot of freedom to have input and be part of the decision making for how things were organized, along with more responsibilities for leading projects, training new employees, and finding and correcting inconsistencies.After I felt like I learned all I could at the museum, I started looking for roles that felt more impactful to the community directly. I have a lot of different interests but one thing that intersects them all is that I want to make a positive difference for people and be helpful. I want to be impactful in the things that matter to me like justice, the environment, and the wellbeing of others.
