I am an intern under Intercultural Student Affairs at Appalachian State University. I primarily work with our Women’s Center and our Henderson-Springs LGBT Center. I am responsible for oversight of volunteers and project/event management.Single-handily organized and planned a successful event to uphold the voices of black women. Launched an annual "Misogynoir" panelist discussion bringing in professional staff, students, and outside parties. Planned an event for reproductive justice for students to find resources and gain knowledge of how reproduction can affect mental, physical, and emotional health in the bodies of cis and trans women. Also how domestic violence can cause reproduction and resources and information regarding that. Assisted with ways to rethink black student attendance at a predominately white institution.

I assisted with college immersion for recently graduated high school students. I helped build class schedules with limited availability and acted as a "go-to" regarding campus resources, class, directions, and anything else incoming students may need. By facilitating ice-breakers and having small groups, I could directly influence each and every one of my students by passing on the knowledge I have regarding the university.
