About Anne Baptiste
I enjoy new challenges and continuously learning. To me, law is the perfect outlet for these interests because I love researching and devising solutions to problems while providing a service to others. I seek to exceed expectations and constantly improve. My unique scientific background has granted me a broad perspective with a diverse skill set. Designing and conducting independent research projects prepared me to understand technical issues from a scientific as well as legal perspective and I am not intimidated by technical information or raw data. Working as a pastry chef at a renowned San Francisco restaurant, Millennium, gave me the opportunity to work as both a team member and a manager to people with diverse backgrounds and inspirational attitudes. My work required a high degree of planning and attention to detail as well as adaptability and composure to provide a superior product. A myriad of things can go wrong on any given day in a restaurant, so I developed the ability to change course and put an alternative plan into motion quickly. The comfort I developed with hard work and high stress has served me well in the field of law.I am interested in pursuing social responsibility as a lawyer. I am committed to environmental issues, and some of my best experiences have been working with the Environmental Law and Policy Center at UC Davis and the Environmental Defense Fund. My spring breaks were spent doing pro bono work with the UC Davis Humanitarian Aid Legal Organization (HALO). In 2012, I became VITA certified to help DNA People’s Services in Window Rock, Arizona prepare income taxes for indigent members of the Navajo Nation. In 2013, I volunteered with Mississippi Center for Justice, and I had the opportunity to do client intake interviews regarding a recent BP Oil Medical Claims Settlement.
Listed skills include Legal Research, Environmental Law, Environmental Policy, Legal Writing, and 13 others.
