In this cross-functional role I:- Develop and implement communications and branding strategies, as well as content and goals for those strategies, to core audiences such as NAFIS members, policymakers and the media- Create, implement and oversee membership strategies related to recruitment and retention, including developing member engagement opportunities, identifying new areas of member benefits and services and providing technical assistance to members- Take a leading role in developing and supporting programmatic and logistical elements of two annual national conferences and other events, as well as participating in and supporting programming onsite- Manage the activities of the Federally Impacted Schools Education Foundation, overseeing and implementing technical assistance workshops and a competitive grants program

Served as a Fellow in a 10-month in-service professional development program for educational professionalsCollaborated with colleagues to lead professional development session on school choice for education professionals

Guided development of graduate mentoring program to help middle school students make the transition to high school and remain on the track to college. Also developed mentor training for this program.

Trained, supervised, and evaluated community- and school-based enrollment and matching staff; evaluated prospective mentors and mentees to ensure child safety; developed and implemented program growth and recruitment plans; and identified, formed and maintained agency partnerships with elementary schools, high schools, universities and other community organizations while navigating the complex post-Katrina New Orleans educational landscape.Also served as the agency's School-Based Mentoring Program Coordinator from January - October 2006, rebuilding the program after Hurricane Katrina devastated it by recruiting, screening and training potential mentors and mentees for school-based mentoring programs. Also developed school-based mentor training and recruitment materials.
