With over 30 years of experience in the design industry, I'm a passionate advocate, curator, journalist, speaker, and creative problem solver. Fusing a background in both law and design, as the director of Authentic Design Alliance® (ADA), a for-purpose industry association, we lead the fight against furniture design theft in Australia and promote the value of investing in original and sustainable products. The ADA works alongside government agencies and lobbies for improved intellectual property protection. We educate consumers, businesses, and the government about the negative cultural, economic, and environmental impact of copying product designs and the fast furniture industry.DESIGN-MADE®, our media platform and podcast, will launch in late 2024 to unmask how furniture, lighting, and objects are created and made. Through conversations with creators, makers, and innovators, we share stories and insights behind the authentic design process to inspire thoughtful consumption and promote the choice of choosing well and buying once.After studying law and design, I worked as an interior designer with Bates Smart, DEGW (London), and Wolff Olins Hamilton (London), leading me to the furniture industry.In Sydney, I helped establish the Space Furniture retail network for founder Kevin Jarett, working as brand manager for heritage Italian brands (B&B Italia, Cassina, Poltrona Frau, Edra, Kartell); and was Space sales and marketing director for more than a decade.As a journalist, my roles included contributing as editor for InsideOUT (10 years, News Ltd) and editor-at-large for Belle Magazine (8 years, ACP/Bauer). I was a contributing editor for several global publications, including Monocle, Surface Asia, and Surface USA.Co-founding DESIGN-MADE in, Sydney's first independent design festival, I've curated and produced numerous exhibition platforms to showcase new works by emerging and established designers. Within my company, AMS Pty Ltd (established in 1994), I have extensive marketing, communications, and production experience, having worked with leading furniture and design brands and retailers.
