• Support for the City Librarian on all items related to strategic initiatives, workflow efficiencies, external partnerships, reporting and summarizing of data-driven program outcomes, management of executive leadership team workplan execution, and representation of the Department and City Librarian when necessary and requested. • Lead a team of employees that provide excellent internal customer support to Library Administration.• Lead Library's data collection and analytics, including collection, reporting, and decisionmaking.• Generally, make magic happen.

Oversaw financial management of the Department, including monthly financial reporting, annual projections, purchasing, cash management, budget proposal and development, and all aspects of Library’s $65 million budget (FY 2019-20).

• Provided leadership during a 14-day activation period responding to the 2017 Presidents Day Flood.• Provided executive support and coordination for the City Manager, Mayor, and City Council.• Using a SCRUM framework, coordinated Citywide actions related to recovery from the 2017 Flood on behalf of damaged City properties, and in support of residents that suffered losses.• Developed a successful $5.4M legislative budget request, authored by Assemblymember Ash Kalra. Developed all materials, communications, and coordinated the legislative and political strategy with the local legislative delegation and Mayor. Met with members of the legislature in Sacramento and worked with the Department of Finance to remove opposition to the request. • Coordinated a large team of City staff through the FEMA cost-recovery reimbursement process.

Public Policy – Rent Stabilization• Provided strategic support and implementation for the development of an inclusive public outreach process for amendments to the City’s rent stabilization ordinance. Public outreach included the development of an appointed Advisory Committee, subject to all sunshine/transparency guidelines and record management. Managed all content development and updates to a comprehensive website which provided the public with all relevant materials, including audio recordings of all meetings and public correspondence.Legislative Analysis• Developed a system to streamline the identification of relevant state and federal legislation for analysis and consideration of a support/oppose/amend position based on the City’s guiding legislative principles.• Authored and presented memos to the City Council with an analysis of the impact of the legislation to the City for their consideration.• Managed the City’s sponsorship of controversial legislation related to homelessness, AB 2176 (2016) successfully collaborating with the Department of Housing & Community Development, and achieving unanimous approvals in the California State Legislature with a signature by Governor Brown.Communications• Created a comprehensive communications plan for both internal and external department communications, public outreach, and media relations.• Developed strategic communications with City Council staff to increase their understanding of complex housing finance and development initiatives.
