About Annie Bacon

I work to provide meaningful opportunities for people of the global north to learn about, participate with, respect, and experience what life is like in the global south. I am passionate about working with communities with less material wealth who are committed to and trying to improve their access to education. I believe that when people with different backgrounds can meet one another face to face, are given the opportunity to work together on a project, barriers can come down, and amazing things can happen. In the words of an Aboriginal activist group in Queensland, "If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together."
