I create playful Early Childhood Experiences that educate and engage the whole family. When I make visible the incredible abilities and potential of children to their caregivers, I empower those adults to provide the best support possible as the children grow and develop. I get to do all of this in a setting that allows me to experiment, be creative, think big, and (occasionally) dress up like a chipmunk with the museum visitors.

Play+science=learning for all!I create engaging and immersive science experiences for young children ages 0-6 and their families, manage paid and unpaid staff, coordinate an active program of cognitive research at the museum, clean everything in sight, manage budgets and inventory, and wake up the next day excited to do it all again. I'm also terrible at remembering the punchlines to jokes.

This position was an opportunity for me to stretch my teaching and facilitation skills to include very young learners and their families. I was responsible for scheduling and training volunteers, planning and managing daily activities, and interacting with visitors.

I engaged high school students in service-learning programming at the museum. My special focus was recruiting and including diverse, at-risk, and underrepresented youth, and to give those students a sense of scientific competency while learning job skills.

Teaching after-school hands-on science programming to elementary age children throughout the Portland Metro area.
