Ms. Yan PENG, Strategic Advisor and Senior Consultant of Smart Freight Center China since Feb 2015. Prior to this, she worked as the first East Asia Regional Director of C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group(2013-2015) and member of C40 Executive Team (Feb2013-Feb2014). She leads the C40 wide spectrum of work of East Asia cities climate actions through city engagement, city needs/priorities identification, and effective solution sharing together with C40 initiatives team. Before this, she, as China Director, led Clean Air Asia (former CAI-Asia) China program for 8 years focusing on city air quality management (AQM) capacity building in collaboration with Ministry of Environment Protection (MEP), and energy efficiency and greenhouse gas and air pollutant emissions reduction from freight and logistics sector, in collaboration with China Ministry of Transport (MOT). Before this, she worked in the UK Department for International Development (DFID) on pro-poor water and other environment resource management for 3 years, and headed Regulatory and Social Strategy Group of ERM China Office. She holds a Master of Law degree from Peking University and studied at The Johns Hopkins University-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies, and University of Toronto, Canada. She was also a visiting scholar to University of Toronto and York University in Canada. Volunteering work: Founding President of Beijing Pro Bono Foundation(July 2016- August2017), Founding member of GPBN Advisory Council (2015-2017), and member of Global Council (2017-2019) of Global Pro Bono Network, GPBN. She also sits, as the only independent individual Expert, on the Expert Group of China Green Freight Initiative (CGFI), and Chair of China Expert Council of Smart Freight Center (CEC-SFC).
