In this role, I built the government programs processing division focused solely on contractual objectives for government products, improving efficiency and ensuring compliance with regulations. I was responsible for directing, monitoring and enhancing operational activities related to claim processing, customer service, billing and member enrollment for the Medicare Advantage, Medicaid Managed Care, Child Health Plus and Healthy NY programs. I coordinated and advised a staff of 10 management and 120 clerical personnel providing leadership, guidance and counseling. I developed and administered departmental budgets at the divisional level. Some of my accomplishment are:• Led Medicare Advantage call center to certification to Customer Operations Performance Center (COPC) 2000 standard in 2002.• Improved Member Touchpoint Measures (MTM) performance in Commercial Government Programs from 54.77 points in January 2002 to 92.99 points in December 2002.• Increased accuracy in enrollment processing by 20%, reducing corporate losses due to sanctions by $250,000, removing the corporation from Stage II audit status with New York State, and improved claim dollar accuracy levels from 90% to 99% in six months with sustained performance thereafter.• Improved accuracy level of appeals and grievance cases processed from 60% to 100% accurate in less than one year, fully complying with requirements of Department of Health (DOH) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).• Grew Group Benefits Administrator satisfaction levels from 60% satisfied to 80% satisfied in six months and created action plans to retain membership. Improved Medicare Advantage member satisfaction levels from 84% to 94% in a period of one year.
