UConn Health is a large brand which contains a multitude of departments, ranging from Cancer research, to women's health, to nutrition services, and many more. This internship position was specifically in the Center for Population Health, which focuses on psychological research and mental health curriculum for Connecticut schools; during the summer of 2019, the main projects revolved around a prescription database in its early stages, and GIZMO, a book about mental health for elementary aged students.- Developed proficiency with Excel through creation of organizational databases which produced worthwhile results from a wide array of data found in a myriad of different surveys- Participated in departmental meetings, often demonstrating ability to offer relevant information– especially regarding mental health of young adults– and developing ability to speak in a professional setting- Acquired ability to evaluate data in a meaningful way, suggesting many potential changes to both the database and GIZMO based upon the results of multiple surveys, 4 of which ultimately getting implemented by the department
