The overall purpose of my role is to assess incoming Academic Appeals, Student Complaints, allegations of breaches of the Student Conduct regulations and exceptional circumstances applications in line with the relevant University regulations, to conduct investigations, determine appropriate outcomes and to communicate these outcomes to students, staff members and other University stakeholders. As part of my SIRO position, I take ownership over a varied caseload across the different case categories, take part in exceptional circumstances panels, attend University Conduct and Appeal Committees to present and/or adjudicate over serious misconduct cases, and am responsible for receiving and responding to complaints from the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA).
