In my current role as the Director of Photography and Broadcast Engineer at Black Star Network, I oversee the design, technical build, and daily operation of the Roland Martin Unfiltered Studio and control room in Washington, DC. This position has required meticulous planning, the selection and operation of a wide range of broadcast equipment, and the management of live remote digital broadcasts. My familiarity with various streaming software, hardware, and production switchers, encoders, decoders, and audio equipment ensures that I can handle all technical aspects of media production efficiently. This show simulcasts exclusively on digital platforms including Youtube, Amazon prime, Instagram live and the Black Star Network app.During the COVID-19 pandemic, I played a key role in transitioning "It's Academic," the longest- running quiz show, from in-studio operations to a predominantly online format. I developed a digital engineering solution that utilized multiple devices to bring in guests remotely and isolate each team, ensuring the show’s successful production. This solution was critical for the show’s continued operation and aired on YouTube and WETA.Additionally, I was contracted to design and build multiple in-home digital broadcast studios, including one for Kara Swisher's "Recode Decode" program on VOX. This experience underscores my ability to deliver professional-grade broadcast solutions under diverse conditions.My work with Armstrong Williams on "The Rightside with Armstrong Williams" on ABC involved producing and broadcasting live interviews with diplomats, subject matter experts, and government officials which include Former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Ben Carson, Former Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, Maryland Governor, Wes Moore and DC Mayor, Muriel Bowser. Additionally, I have been hired as a "one-man band" for multi-camera live and recorded digital broadcasts, showcasing my ability to manage all aspects of production independently.Throughout my career, I have developed a reputation for my organizational skills, creativity, and initiative. My background in managing production budgets, leading teams, and delivering high-quality content aligns well with the responsibilities of the Digital Media Administrator role. My experience as a multi-published Getty Images photographer further underscores my ability to capture and produce compelling visual content.
