Appointed to serve as Senior VP HR for WCHN by the CEO and Executive Vice President, with responsibility for a staff of 35 HR professionals in all HR functions across the Health Network including Labor & Employee Relations, Employee Health and Retirement Benefits, Compensation (including Executive Compensation), Leadership Development, and Staffing and Recruitment. Directed the continuing integration of all HR operations and functions across the new Network. Major accomplishments included the consolidation of all employee health and retirement benefit plans, compensation and salary admin systems and performance management systems. Led the project to evaluate and select new benefit vendors for Health, Retirement, Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) and Stop Loss plans resulting in over $7M in annual savings. Successfully directed the negotiation of a new collective bargaining agreement representing 400 staff nurses at Norwalk Hospital.

Norwalk Ct

Directed staff of 18 FTEs in all functions within Human Resources including Employee and Labor Relations, Executive Compensation, Salary Administration, Employee Benefits, HRIS, Staffing, Training and Leadership and Organization Development. Principal duties and responsibilities included:• Development of Human Resource strategies and practices to support the organization’s mission, values and business plans. • Collaboration with senior leadership team to identify opportunities for cost reductions, growth and improved operating efficiencies while maintaining the highest level of patient care, quality and patient satisfaction. • Ensuring that Human Resources systems and practices facilitate the recruitment, retention and engagement of employees, with particular focus on high performers.• Directed a comprehensive labor relations program to maintain effective relationship with Collective Bargaining agent for staff nurses, and to avoid increased organization of staff. • Ensured full compliance with all federal and state employment laws, regulations and requirements, and develop appropriate corrective action plans where needed.• Conducted periodic market benchmarking to ensure that HR practices, polices and programs are competitive.• Established a comprehensive employee training and development program to facilitate employee development, meet internal talent requirements, and to demonstrate the organization’s investment in people.• Planned and directed all Executive Compensation programs and served as staff to Compensation Committee of Board of Trustees• As member of the Senior Leadership team contributed to a multi-year financial turnaround plan resulting in organizational financial performance in excess of budgeted goals for five consecutive fiscal years.

Managed the Human Resources function for the Bayer Research and Product Development Center, comprised of more than 800 employees at the West Haven CT facility.
