Worked on the OnStar User Experience team designing, coding, testing and supporting all aspects of the Turn-By-Turn Navigation system. This included working on a Java based system that converts downloaded routes into a parse-able set of instructions, parses that set of instructions and plays the appropriate audio clips. Worked on every aspect of the system from design, coding, testing, deployment and implementation of the solution. This position included leading a team of 3 to 5 offshore resources for development and implementation of solutions on the system.Key Projects and Achievements:• Began redesigning and coding our client system for in car instructions in Java and JavaScript to support Android and Mobile development initiative. Worked with the team to implement new system for in-dash UI experience and turn by turn direction system.• Implemented Arabic language to support the Turn-by-Turn navigation system. This included modifications, in Java, to the grammar and maneuver subsystems and re-configuration of the JSGF files. Design and implementation of Arabic audio prompts to the system. Installation and use of Arabic TTS system. • Designed and coded, in Java, an Arabic Transliteration tool that maps Arabic characters to the correct transliterated character for easier translation. • Implemented Linux based sandboxes as our development environment.• Implemented a new voice into the system for North American region. This included designing a new Audio prompt schema for English, adjusting the way we handle English audio prompts across all regions, adjusting the Database to point to the new voice data and testing all aspect of the system to verify that nothing was missed with the new voice data.

Key Projects and Achievements:• Championed, designed and lead the development efforts for a complete systems re-write, in Java, of a legacy catalog system that supported the Storefront and OMS systems. • Designed and lead the development for a pricing system using Java and JSP in a Struts Environment to allow for multiple pricing discount plans for a given storefront. • Implemented web service interfaces internally and externally into our OMS solution using a combination of CXF, JAX-WS and JAXB. • Implemented a subscription system into Storefront and OMS systems, which allowed for ordering and tracking existing subscriptions within the system.• Implemented an online sweepstakes system too allow for sweepstakes entry during order capture. • Worked in a pure Linux environment for development.

Implemented a complete Struts solution, which included a redesign of the web tier as well as the business logic and database design of Quick Shopping Cart. Also, designed coded and developed in Java the Simple Control Panel for configuring and running a Linux web server using the Struts and Spring frameworks. I implemented solutions to handle all aspects of configuring and running a Linux web server including automating solutions for Apache, Certificates management, Tomcat configuration, system bandwidth configuration and MySQL automation.
