I’m on a lifelong journey discovering what leadership, drawing, public speaking and other creative skills look like when they all come together. I don’t plan to use LinkedIn to brag or find self-worth. Since we’re here, this is what I’ve done/am doing.My leadership purpose is to encourage diverse groups of remarkable people to come together to accomplish things they cannot do on their own. Yes, that’s close to the “Avengers Initiative”, but this has been true of me since childhood, well before my career-life began.Currently, I have the privilege of leading a team of gifted staff and brilliant volunteers as the Discipleship Team Director at BelPres Church. We are dedicated to uniting spiritual growth, community groups, leader equipping, justice, giving, and missions as integral components of discipleship, embracing their interconnectedness. Additionally, I’m an illustrator with my own small (really small) business, Anthony Ballard Art. I do some freelance artwork for individuals and organizations. I’ve illustrated two children’s books, the second is slated to be published this year (2023).Before relocating to the Seattle area, I served as the Director and one of many Speakers for a national sexual education program, Reality Check, under the umbrella of Claris Health. This role provided me with extensive experience discussing sensitive topics with diverse audiences, engaging and disarming them through compelling and thought-provoking presentations.I have experience managing teams of staff and volunteers, and have developed significant skills in change management. Between my leadership and management side and my creative side, and being able to communicate to diverse audiences about challenging topics like racial justice and sex ed, I can lead through hard topics and times.
