Jesse Bethel's Biomedical Academy now known as Pathways has partnered with Touro University's Public Health Program to provide both public health educational development to high schoolers and leadership opportunities for students after school to gain advocacy skills, increased public health knowledge, & career development. Known as Youth in Participatory Action Research (YPAR), we develop research-based theses on initial and post survey assessments of high school students in Vallejo, California. The Youth in Action program (YIA) concurrently takes place through the school year and offers opportunities for interested students after school to improve their health literacy and be leaders within their school & community to promote healthy living practices. My role as a fellow includes developing course curriculum, orchestrating student activities, and providing logistical support for the project.

I was contracted by the U.S. Department of Justice Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation (BCJI) grant and the California Board of State and Community Corrections CalVIP grant to conduct an evaluation of Project HOPE Year 2 as part of the Touro University HECJ Lab Team.

- Store and stock prescriptions- Delete expired prescriptions from Intercom+ system - Register patients' for vaccinations via questionnaire verification- Upload and retype prescriptions to be processed by health insurance- Operate drive-thru patient pick-up interaction effectively - Remove and dispose of designated personal information (DPI)- Verify and update patient insurance information

- Provided on-site logistical aid for communication services- Created point-of-contact email templates for various types of organic product companies associated with The Avalon Group- Engage in developing promotional graphics for our brands/services available- Made a standard operation procedure manual for future workers utilizing the COM program

- Book and calendar future events in a shared calendar website- Create the itinerary and host meetings for those within the Multicultural Sorority Fraternity Community that focused on cultivating a safe, responsible Greek life community- Provide the Sorority Fraternity Life supervisors with updates of several chapter bodies- Host and plan collaborative events regarding risk management for chapters to have access to resources and education- Personally revised and updated bylaws regarding the framework of risk management to create a standard curriculum for DEI and Safety topics to be addressed- Provide a safe and welcoming space on campus for the diverse community through community workshops- Proposed and hosted a school-wide multicultural appreciation fair that allowed cultural campus organizations at UC Irvine to table information and share an aspect of their culture with the community (food, games, apparel, etc)

- Construct and design infographics via social media to market and promote cultural awareness in the community- Focus on creating unique presentations and interactive activities for groups of people to meet and intermingle- Provide a clear and detailed slideshow of the multiple organizations

- Record and update patient insurance information- Search and verify patient coverage- Answer phone calls- Create media plans for discounted check-ups for holidays- Clean and prepare the room for the patients to enter- Schedule patients for their dental appointments

- Communicate with customers by telephone or in person to provide information about products or services the park offered, cancel accounts, or obtain details of complaints- Keep records of customer interactions or transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, or comments- Check to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers' problems- Recommend and Sell passes/seasonal deals to guests- Assist park guests with any questions or concerns

- Greet guests and seat them at tables- Maintain contact with kitchen staff, management and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly and customers' concerns are addressed- Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and organization of food/beverages- Take and prepare to-go orders.- Operate cash registers to accept payments for food and beverages.
