About Anthony Cheshire

Currently working as Co-Founder and Chair of Trellis Technologies Pty Ltd, I began my professional career as a researcher and academic focussing on anthropogenic impacts on natural systems. I quickly evolved into a Science Leader and then into an Executive Manager delivering outcomes across a wide range of high quality programs including state and national research and development programs, CRCs and commercial businesses.Over the last 18 years, I have operated my own consulting business, as well as co-founding Trellis Technologies. I have held a number of other executive appointments and sat on numerous Boards and Advisory bodies with a strong focus on Natural Resource Management and utilisation. I am an experienced Board Director and Chair (having filled both NED and ED) roles and have served in a number of Ministerial advisory roles.I am most proud of my achievements as Chair of the Scientific Working Group (SWG) for Marine Parks and Marine Planning. I worked in this role, pro-bono, for 12 years (including on the fore-runner Scientific Advisory Group). The SWG provided consistent, high quality advice to the SA Department of Environment over the tenure of four different Ministers. Our work culminated in 44% of State Waters being declared as Marine Parks.
