Manage and oversee the commissioning process for the APLNG telecommunications network being rolled out throughout the Surrat Basin.Develop commissioning procedures and test plans (including Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, and System Intergrations Tests) for the various telecommunications equipment being installed throughout the APLNG network, including but not limited to;* Wireless Broadband* SDH transmission links (microwave and fibre)* SDH Multiplexing* DTVMR* DC power systems* Back-up power systems (generators, UPS, battery backup, etc)* EMS/NMS systems* Telecommunications shelters and enclosures* Antenna and feeder systems.Provide on and off site support and guidance to the client and installation/commissioning teams on commissioning, testing and live traffic migration applicable to the above systems. Liaise closely with client project managers and commissioning and discipline engineers to ensure commissioning and test expectations are met and delivered in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with contractual obligations.Manage and report on quality issues throughout the construction and commissioning phases, ensuring corrective actions are successfully implemented and lessons learnt are captured to demonstrate continual improvement of systems and delivery.

Responsible for managing the day to day operation of the QLD field team (42 personnel). This included;* Providing supervision and guidance in installation and maintenance activities conducted on the Vodafone, Optus and Telstra mobile phone networks throughout Northern NSW and QLD.* Managing SLA requirements through the provision of 24/7 on call 2nd level technical support and primary escallation point to on call staff and regional subcontracting companies throughout Northern NSW and QLD during non-urgent and emergency faults on the Vodafone network.* Manage and provide monthly, incident and exception reports detailing causes of faults that exceeded SLA requirements, and developing and implementing corrective actions and strategies to prevent re-occurances ensure future service obligations are met. * Manage maintenance sparing requirements for QLD field team and regional subcontractors.* Liaise with internal and external customers to ensure understanding of SOW, Budgets and resource requirements to ensure customer’s expectations are met.* Facilitate/Oversee the development of internal and external quote and tender submissions* Manage internal and external project or task level budgets, escalating potential cost over runs and submission of scope variations.* Champion and drive excellence and continual improvement in techncial, rigging and OH&S practices within the team, which included but was not limited to developing, co-ordinating and conducting training, conducting on-site and desktop audits and developing tool box talks.* Provide overal leadership, mentoring and motivation to all staff in order to acheive the organisational, team and personal goals

Completion of network and system installations/upgrades and completing routine and 24/7 emergency maintenance of telecommunications systems from, GSM, UMTS systems, PDH and SDH transmission systems used within the Vodafone network.Responsible for managing preventative maintenance program and remote diagosed fault program to proactively identify and rectify network faults before they become service impacting.

I was fortunate in the Army to become experienced in the operation and maintenance of all defence communications systems; which included performing operation, repair and maintenance on; * High Power HF transmitter and receiver stations* System Control facilities* Heavy terminal satellite earth stations* HF/UHF/VHF radio systems* Ku-band and C band satellite systems* INMARSAT* Digital Circuit Switching systems* Cipher equipment* Multipexer* Cisco switch & routers* Video Conferencing SystemsEarly in my career I completed 6mths technical training in the USA on heavy terminal satellite systems in which I achieved top of my course and received a letter of commendation of academic distinction from the US Army.I was directly involved in leading the deployment of Ku-band satellite and digital switching systems, and providing repairs on cipher equipemnt throughout the South Pacific on humanitarian and peace keeping operations in PNG, Bougainville and East Timor.I have also performed several training and R&D roles during my military career, which included providing technical training to Australian Army Comms techs on the Ku-Band satellite systems, and providing O&M training on radio systems and battery systems to international defence technical personnel.
